Best Hotels in Phuket 2026: Budget to Luxury

Luxury hotel in Phuket overlooking the Andaman Sea -- infinity pool and tropical garden

Choosing a hotel in Phuket is a head-spinning task. Thousands of options, dozens of areas, price ranges from 400 to 50,000 baht per night. I've lived in Phuket for over 4 years, driven through every neighborhood, checked guests into dozens of hotels, and know exactly where it's worth staying -- and where it's money wasted. Here's my honest guide to the best hotels of 2026.

How to Choose an Area

Budget Hotels: Under 1,500 Baht/Night

The Memory at On On Hotel (Phuket Town)

Legendary hotel in Old Town -- "The Beach" with DiCaprio was filmed here (the hostel scene). 1929 building fully restored: stylish colonial-style rooms. Nearby: all the restaurants and cafes of Old Town, Sunday market, museums.

Price: 800-1,200 baht/night. Best for: backpackers, solo travelers, history lovers. Downside: 30-40 minutes to the beach.

Lub d Phuket Patong

Stylish hostel-hotel from Thai chain Lub d. Capsules with curtains, private rooms, common areas with bar and cinema room. Location -- center of Patong, 5 min to beach and Bangla Road.

Price: 500-1,500 baht/night.

Mid-Range: 1,500-4,000 Baht/Night

Novotel Phuket Kata Avista Resort & Spa

My favorite in the mid-range. Stylish hillside hotel with sea views, three pools (one infinity with panorama), good breakfast, spa. Kata Beach is 10 min by free shuttle.

Price: 2,500-4,000 baht/night. Best for: couples, families wanting quality without overpaying.

The Nap Patong

Trendy boutique hotel in Patong. Designer rooms, rooftop pool with city views, excellent restaurant. 5 min to beach.

Price: 2,000-3,500 baht/night.

Luxury: From 4,000 Baht/Night

Kata Rocks (Kata Noi)

My personal favorite in Phuket. Designer resort with "sky pool" villas -- each villa has its own infinity pool with sea views. Minimalist architecture, cosmic views, Michelin-quality restaurant. Not just a hotel -- it's a work of art.

Price: 8,000-25,000 baht/night.

Trisara (Nai Thon)

One of Southeast Asia's finest resorts. Private pool villas amid tropical forest, private beach, Michelin-starred chef restaurant. Maximum privacy.

Price: 15,000-50,000+ baht/night.

Amanpuri (Pansea)

A legend of world hospitality. The first Aman hotel, opened in 1988. Thai pavilions among coconut palms, private beach, yacht fleet, Japanese restaurant, holistic spa.

Price: 25,000-100,000+ baht/night.

Booking.com vs Agoda: Where's Cheaper

Short answer: for Southeast Asia, Agoda is usually 10-20% cheaper. Both belong to Booking Holdings but have different pricing strategies. Agoda is the Asian platform, and Phuket hotels give it better rates.
