Questions About Phuket Itineraries

How many days do you need in Phuket?+

At least 3 days to get acquainted with the island: one day at the beach, one for an excursion (Phi Phi or James Bond Island), one for culture (Big Buddha, Old Town). Ideally 7 days: you'll see the south, north, islands and still have time to relax without rushing.

What budget do you need for Phuket?+

A budget trip for 7 days starts from 19,000 THB (~$530) per person excluding flights: hostel or guesthouse, street food, 1-2 excursions, motorbike. A mid-range budget is 35,000-50,000 THB with a good hotel and 3-4 excursions.

Do I need a motorbike for the itinerary?+

A motorbike gives you maximum freedom and saves on taxis. Rental is 250-350 THB per day. If you don't ride, use Grab and Bolt: a taxi across the island costs 200-600 THB per trip. Tuk-tuks run between beaches but they're expensive.

Can you combine Phuket with Krabi?+

Yes, it's a popular combination. The Phuket to Krabi ferry takes 2-2.5 hours and costs 400-800 THB. Ideally add 2-3 days in Krabi: Railay, Hong Islands, Four Islands. Our 10-day itinerary includes both Krabi and Khao Sok.

When is the best time to visit Phuket?+

High season is November-April: dry weather, calm sea, all excursions running. Peak is December-January (more expensive, more crowded). Low season (May-October) also works: prices drop 30-50%, rain lasts 1-2 hours per day.
