What to know before renting.

License

You need an international driving permit category A (bike) or B (car). Without a license the police will fine you — they check often.

Insurance

Basic insurance is already included. Extended coverage (zero deductible) costs an extra 100–300 ฿/day. Recommended.

Deposit

Cash deposit — 3,000–10,000 ฿ for a bike. You do NOT need to hand over your passport, and if they demand it — don't.
