Phuket Excursions 2026 — Complete Guide to Tours and Prices
I have been living in Phuket for several years now and have tried pretty much every excursion the island has to offer. Prices shift a little each season, new tours pop up, and old ones get revamped. In this guide I have gathered everything that is current for 2026: where to go, how much it costs, where to book, and how to save. No fluff, no advertising — just personal experience.
I divide all Phuket excursions into five broad categories: island tours, mainland tours, shows and performances, active adventures, and trips abroad. Let us go through each one in detail.
Island Excursions — The Star Attraction of the Andaman
The Andaman Sea is the main reason most tourists fly to Phuket in the first place. Turquoise water, white sand, jungle-covered cliffs — that is what island excursions are all about. Here are the key destinations I recommend.
Phi Phi Islands (from 1,700 ฿)
The Phi Phi Islands tour is the classic starter. You will see the famous Maya Bay (yes, the one from the movie "The Beach" with Leonardo DiCaprio), Bamboo Island with its snow-white sand, and Monkey Beach — a cove where monkeys roam freely. A standard speedboat tour costs from 1,700 ฿ per person, including lunch, snorkeling masks, and a hotel transfer. A big boat is cheaper — around 1,200 ฿ — but the trip takes longer and the rocking is rougher.
My tip: go for the early departure (6:30-7:00 AM). You will arrive at Phi Phi before the main crowds, and your photos will be on a completely different level. If you want to stay longer, there is a 2-day Phi Phi tour with an overnight stay on the island.
Similan Islands (from 2,400 ฿)
The Similans are the number-one pick for sheer beauty among all island excursions in the region. The national park is open only from November to April, so if you are in Phuket during the season — do not miss it. The water is so crystal-clear you can see the bottom at 20 meters. Snorkeling here is the best in Thailand, no exaggeration.
The price from 2,400 ฿ includes transfer, speedboat, lunch, snorkeling gear, and national park admission. Departure is early — around 6 AM. You will be back by 6:00-7:00 PM. It is a long day, but absolutely worth it.
Rok and Haa Islands (from 3,200 ฿)
Rok and Haa are a less hyped but excellent alternative to the Similans. The islands are located further south and closer to Phuket. The coral reefs here are in superb condition, and sea turtles are spotted regularly. If the Similans are already closed (May-October), Rok and Haa are the best option for snorkeling.
Racha Island and Coral Island (from 1,200 ฿)
Racha Island and Coral Island are the closest to Phuket. The speedboat ride takes just 15-30 minutes. This is the ideal choice if you have small children or simply do not want to spend an entire day on a trip. Coral Island leans more toward the "party" side — lots of water activities (parasailing, banana boat, jet ski). Racha is quieter and more scenic.
There is a combined tour Coral + Racha + Maithon — three islands in one day, from 1,400 ฿.
11 Islands (from 4,100 ฿)
The "11 Islands" tour packs the maximum number of impressions into a single day. The route passes through Phang Nga Bay, including James Bond Island (on the map). The format is speedboat plus kayaks. Perfect for those who want to see as much as possible in one outing.
Mainland Excursions
There is more to Phuket than islands. The mainland nearby has stunning places that many tourists unfairly skip.
Khao Sok — Jungle and Lake (from 2,600 ฿)
Khao Sok National Park is home to some of the oldest rainforests on the planet (older than the Amazon!). Cheow Lan Lake with its floating bungalows is the place whose photos you have almost certainly seen on Instagram. A one-day tour starts from 2,600 ฿, but I strongly recommend the 2-day option with an overnight stay — at night on the lake you can see the Milky Way, and the experience is unforgettable.
Krabi and Phang Nga Bay (from 2,400 ฿)
The Krabi excursion includes the Emerald Pool, hot springs, and Tiger Temple. Separately worth highlighting is the James Bond Island tour (on the map) — the famous rock from the movie "The Man with the Golden Gun." There are options on a big boat (cheaper, from 1,600 ฿) and on a speedboat (pricier, but more comfortable).
Rafting (from 1,200 ฿)
Rafting in Phuket is not a Class V extreme ride — it is more of a pleasant jungle river adventure. The rapids are gentle enough even for children aged 7 and up. The tour usually includes ATV riding or elephant encounters, a zipline, and lunch.
ATV Riding (from 1,500 ฿)
ATV riding is a great pick for adrenaline seekers. The routes run along dirt roads through jungles and plantations. Programs range from 1 to 3 hours.
Shows and Performances
Phuket has several major shows, each impressive in its own way. They all run in the evening, so you can sunbathe on the beach during the day and enjoy a cultural program at night.
Siam Niramit (from 1,500 ฿)
Siam Niramit (on the map) is a grand show about the history and culture of Thailand. The stage is enormous and the special effects are stunning: waterfalls, flying performers, live elephants on stage. Before the show there is a Thai village with workshops and a buffet dinner. This is the show I recommend first and foremost — for adults and families with children alike.
Carnival Magic (from 2,650 ฿)
Carnival Magic (on the map) is a relatively new park that opened in 2022. The grounds are huge: themed zones, a carnival parade, and a fireworks show. Visually it is the most dazzling place in Phuket — especially in the evening when everything is lit up.
FantaSea (from 1,600 ฿)
FantaSea (on the map) is a legendary show running since 1998. Often called the Thai Disneyland, it features acrobatics, magic, elephants, and lasers — all in one performance. Before the show you can stroll through the park and dine in a massive restaurant (one of the largest in Asia).
Simon Cabaret (from 800 ฿)
Simon Cabaret (on the map) is the famous cabaret show in Patong. Dazzling costumes, dancing, and lip-syncing to world hits. The show lasts about an hour and is very affordable. One of the most popular evening entertainment options.

Deep-sea fishing — head out to the open sea for a full day. Catches include barracuda, tuna, and marlin. All tackle, lunch, and drinks are included. Even if you are not a fisherman, it makes for a wonderful day on the water.
Bioluminescent Plankton (from 2,650 ฿)
The bioluminescent plankton tour is an evening excursion held after dark. You cruise on a boat while the water around you glows neon blue — this is bioluminescent phytoplankton. It looks absolutely surreal, especially if you jump in and swim. Available roughly from November to April.

The sightseeing tour is a perfect option for your first day on the island. In 6-8 hours you will visit all the key landmarks: Big Buddha (on the map), Promthep Cape (on the map), Wat Chalong temple (on the map), Karon Viewpoint (on the map), and Phuket Old Town (on the map). Prices start from 1,200 ฿ per person.

My Top 5 Phuket Excursions
If your time is limited and you need to choose, here is my personal top five:
- Similan Islands — if you are here during the season (November-April), this is must-do number one.
- Khao Sok 2-day trip — the best thing I have seen in mainland Thailand.
- Phi Phi with an early departure — a classic that never disappoints.
- Siam Niramit — the best evening show, especially for first-time visitors to Thailand.
- Hanuman World — if you want adrenaline and incredible jungle photos.
Useful Tips Before Your Trip
- Bring sunscreen (SPF 50+) — and make it reef-safe if you are going snorkeling, as regular sunscreen damages coral.
- Seasickness is a real issue. If you get motion-sick, take a Dramamine tablet 30 minutes before departure (available at any pharmacy or 7-Eleven).
- Cash comes in handy for tipping the guide and buying extra photos (200-300 ฿).
- A waterproof phone case is a must. Sold on every corner for 100-200 ฿.
- Cell service can be weak on the islands — download offline maps in advance.
