Phuket 10-Day Itinerary: Complete Day-by-Day Plan with Island Trips
Ten days is that luxury timeframe that lets you not just see Phuket, but truly feel it. You can take your time, revisit a favorite beach, have a lazy pool day, and even venture beyond the island — to Krabi with its karst cliffs or to Khao Sok National Park with some of the planet's oldest jungle. I've lived here for several years and create these itineraries for friends who fly in for extended stays. This plan has been tested many times over.
Itinerary structure: the first third — getting to know the island and the southern coast, the middle — islands and adventures, the finale — trips beyond Phuket and a relaxed conclusion. Active days alternate with rest so you return home refreshed rather than exhausted from your vacation.
Days 1-3: Southern Phuket — Beaches, Views, Seafood
Day 1: Arrival, Check-in, Beach
Arrival and acclimatization. Airport transfer: Grab 600-1,000 THB, minibus 200 THB/person. If you're based in the south (Rawai, Nai Harn) — it's 50-60 minutes; to Patong — 40-50 minutes.
After checking in — head to the nearest beach. Don't chase the best one on day one: Patong, Karon, Kata — any will do for your first swim. Sun lounger 200 THB, coconut 60 THB. Evening — stroll around the neighborhood and dinner: tom yum 120-180 THB, grilled seafood 300-600 THB.
Day 2: Nai Harn and Promthep Cape
Your first independent trip to the south. Nai Harn Beach — one of the most photogenic on the island: white sand, turquoise water, framed by hills. In high season the sea is calm, in low season — there are waves (but great for surfing). Detailed review — in our Phuket beach ranking.
After lunch — Promthep Cape: panorama of the Andaman Sea, Racha Island on the horizon, a windmill viewpoint nearby. Stay until sunset (18:00-18:30 depending on season) — one of the best on the island.
Day 3: Rawai, Fish Market, Hidden Beaches
Rawai — a fishing village on the southeast. In the morning — explore hidden beaches: Ao Sane (a small cove with great snorkeling right off shore) and Laem Ka (a quiet beach visited only by locals).
Lunch — Rawai Fish Market: buy fresh seafood (shrimp 400-600 THB/kg, lobster 800-1,500 THB/500g, crabs 300-500 THB/piece) and take it to a nearby restaurant for cooking (100 THB/dish). Dinner for two — 1,000-2,500 THB, and it'll be the freshest seafood of your life.
Evening — Thai massage (300-500 THB/hour) and early bed before tomorrow's excursion.
Days 4-5: Islands — The Trip's Biggest Highlights
Day 4: Phi Phi Islands
Speedboat picks you up from the hotel at 7:00-7:30, returns by 17:00. Cost 1,500-3,500 THB. Program: Maya Bay (from the movie "The Beach"), snorkeling at Shark Point (reef sharks — harmless!), Pileh Lagoon (emerald lagoon between cliffs), Monkey Beach, lunch on Phi Phi Don.
If you've been to Phi Phi before — alternative: Phang Nga Bay (James Bond Island), kayaking among mangroves. 1,500-3,000 THB.
More details on all options — in our complete excursion guide.
Day 5: Similan Islands or Racha Island
Similan Islands (Oct 15 - May 15): if you're visiting during the season — this is a must. The water is clearer, corals more vibrant, crowds 3 times smaller. Price 2,500-4,500 THB. Transfer to Tap Lamu Pier — 1.5 hours. Detailed comparison — Similans vs Phi Phi.
Racha Island (year-round): if the Similans are closed or you want something closer — Racha Yai. 40 minutes by speedboat, white sand beach, snorkeling with turtles, diving (3,500-5,000 THB for 2 dives). Standard tour — 1,500-2,500 THB.
Evening: after two days at sea, your legs are begging for a massage. Oil full-body massage — 500-800 THB/hour. Recommendations — in our guide to the best massage in Phuket.
Day 6: Culture — Temples, Old Town, Big Buddha
A break between sea days and off-island trips. Today — the soul of Phuket, not beaches.
Morning (8:00-11:00): Big Buddha
A 45-meter marble statue on Nak Kerd Hill. Winding road up (10 minutes by scooter, 15 by taxi). From the top you can see Chalong, Kathu, Karon, and the Andaman Sea. Free entry, donations welcome. Dress modestly (shoulders + knees covered).
Midday (11:00-13:00): Wat Chalong
Phuket's main Buddhist temple. Free entry. Inside — a fragment of Buddha's bone (according to legend), a pagoda with an observation deck, gardens on the grounds. 30-40 minutes is enough. More details — in our temple guide.
Lunch and afternoon (13:00-17:00): Old Town Phuket
The historic heart of the island. Sino-Portuguese buildings, colorful facades, third-wave coffee shops, galleries, street art. Streets: Thalang, Dibuk, Phang Nga, Krabi Road. Coffee — 60-90 THB, dim sum — 150-300 THB, o-tao (Peranakan dish) — 80-120 THB.
Also here — the best souvenirs: natural cosmetics, Thai tea, handcrafted goods (not Chinese mass-produced items from markets).
Evening: night market. Naka Weekend Market (Sat-Sun) — huge with food and goods. Chillva Market (daily from 17:00) — compact and trendy. Walking Street (Sun) — in Old Town itself. Street food at the market: pad thai 50 THB, satay 40 THB, mango sticky rice 60 THB.

Day 7: Krabi — Cliffs, Emerald Pool, Hot Springs
A day trip to Krabi Province — a completely different Thailand. Vertical karst cliffs, jungle, emerald lakes.
Program (7:00-19:00):
- Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea) — 1,237 steps to the top, panoramic views of Krabi Town and the Andaman Sea. Optional — stay at the bottom and explore the caves.
- Emerald Pool — a natural pool in the jungle with incredibly colored water. Swimming allowed.
- Hot Springs — natural thermal baths in the forest, 35-40°C. Perfect relaxation after the temple climb.
- Lunch — included in tour price or self-pay (150-300 THB).
Cost: group tour 1,500-2,500 THB, private car 4,000-6,000 THB (more convenient and flexible timing). Transfer from Phuket — about 2 hours each way.
Alternative: Railay Beach in Krabi (reached by boat from Ao Nang) — one of the most beautiful in Thailand. But this takes the whole day.
Day 8: Khao Sok — Jungle and Cheow Lan Lake
Khao Sok National Park — the world's oldest tropical jungle (160 million years, older than the Amazon). Cheow Lan Lake — flooded limestone mountains, floating bungalows, silence and wildlife.
Program (6:00-20:00):
- Transfer from Phuket — 2-2.5 hours to the park.
- Boat ride on Cheow Lan Lake — floating houses among karst cliffs, monkeys, hornbills.
- Kayaking — through calm lake bays, surrounded by jungle.
- Lunch on a floating house — included.
- Cave — optional, with jungle trekking (30-40 min).
Cost: 2,500-4,500 THB (group), 6,000-10,000 THB (private). It's a long day (14 hours), but the impressions are unique — nothing else like it nearby.
Tip: after two days of trips, tomorrow's relaxation day will be much appreciated. Don't plan anything active.
Day 9: Full Relaxation — Pool, Spa, Favorite Beach
Day nine — no plans. This is a deliberate pause, and it's needed. After 8 days of active vacation, your body has earned a simple day by the water.
Options:
- Morning by the hotel pool. Finally that pool you paid for. Book, cocktail, silence.
- Return to your favorite beach. Over 8 days you found yours — go back without rush or schedule.
- Spa day. Full package: scrub + massage + aroma bath + facial — 2,000-5,000 THB (3-4 hours). A great gift to yourself before heading home.
- Late brunch at a beautiful cafe. Phuket has excellent brunch spots: Baba Nest (rooftop with 360° views), Cafe Kantary, Rustic & Blue.
Evening: farewell dinner. If you haven't been yet — check out one of the best restaurants. Or repeat the Rawai Fish Market — it's worth doing twice.
Day 10: Shopping, Last Views, and Departure
Final day. How much time you have depends on your flight.
With an evening flight (full day):
- Morning (9:00-12:00): shopping at Central Phuket (both wings — Floresta and Festival). Thai brands, NaRaYa (bags), Jim Thompson (silk). Or King Power Duty Free — collect purchases at the airport.
- Lunch (12:00-13:30): Central food court — Thai food at fixed prices (80-150 THB/dish), clean and air-conditioned.
- Afternoon (13:30-16:00): one last massage (why not?), packing, checkout.
- Transfer (16:00-17:30): from Patong — 1 hour, from Rawai — 50 min. Arrive 2.5 hours before international flights.
With a morning flight: book a taxi the night before. Have breakfast at the airport (cafes open 24/7). Duty Free — standard selection, average prices.

How to Adapt the 10-Day Itinerary
With kids: replace Khao Sok (long day) with Splash Jungle water park + Phuket Aquarium. Keep Krabi — kids love the Emerald Pool. Add an ethical elephant sanctuary visit (day 9).
For couples: day 9 = spa for two (3,000-6,000 THB) + romantic dinner on the beach (1,500-3,000 THB). Add a sunset yacht cruise (2,500-5,000 THB/person) on one evening.
For active travelers: replace day 9 with diving (2 dives at Racha — 3,500-5,000 THB), zip-lining (2,000-3,500 THB), or kitesurfing at Nai Yang (lesson — 2,500-4,000 THB).
In low season: Similans are closed — replace with a second Phi Phi day (different route) or Phang Nga Bay. Surfing at Kata — a rainy season bonus (board 200-300 THB/hour, lesson 1,500 THB).
Two bases: consider moving mid-trip: days 1-5 in Patong (central, convenient for excursions), days 6-10 in Rawai/Nai Harn (quieter, cheaper, more atmospheric). The move takes 30-40 minutes.
Practical Tips for 10 Days
Transport. For 10 days, scooter rental (300-500 THB/day = 3,000-5,000 THB total) is the best value if you have experience. Without experience — Grab + organized tour transfers. Details — in our transport guide.
Connectivity. SIM card AIS/TrueMove: 300-600 THB for a week, extend via app. Or eSIM (Airalo, Holafly) — from 500 THB for 10 days.
Money. For 10 days it's better to withdraw a large sum once (the 220 THB/withdrawal fee is the same regardless of amount) or exchange cash at SuperRich (Phuket Town). Cards accepted at malls, restaurants, hotels, but markets and small cafes — cash only.
Safety. SPF 50 is mandatory (tropical sun is deceptive), drink 2+ liters of water daily, always wear a helmet on scooters. Mosquito repellent is useful in the jungle (Khao Sok, zip-line).
Weather. High season (November-April): dry, +30-33°C, calm sea. Low season (May-October): rain 1-3 hours per day (usually after lunch), but 80% of the time — sunshine. Same temperature. Prices 20-40% lower.
FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions
Is 10 days too long for Phuket?
No, 10 days is the ideal duration for an in-depth experience. Beyond Phuket itself, you'll have time to visit islands, Krabi, and Khao Sok National Park. The itinerary is balanced: active and relaxed days alternate, so there's no feeling of rushing.
How much does 10 days in Phuket cost in 2026?
Excluding flights: budget — from 28,000 THB, mid-range — from 65,000 THB, comfort — from 145,000 THB per person. Includes accommodation, food, transport, 3-4 excursions, and day trips to Krabi/Khao Sok.
Is it worth leaving Phuket for Krabi or Khao Sok?
With a 10-day itinerary — absolutely yes. Krabi is a different world: karst cliffs, Emerald Pool, hot springs, Railay Beach. Khao Sok has the world's oldest tropical jungle and Cheow Lan Lake with floating bungalows. Both are accessible as day trips from Phuket.
Which area of Phuket should I choose for 10 days?
For 10 days, consider two options: stay in one place (Patong — central and convenient) or move mid-trip (first 5 days Patong, last 5 — Rawai or Nai Harn for tranquility). The second option offers more variety.
Do I need a visa for 10 days in Thailand?
For citizens of most Western countries — no. Visa-free entry allows stays of up to 60 days (since 2024). You'll need a passport valid for 6+ months, a return ticket, and proof of accommodation.
